Responsibilities
- Help build the web based version of WhatsApp in Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3
- Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from PMs, designers and other engineers
- Pro-actively enhance our web platform
Experience
- Ability to create delightful, polished interfaces using Javascript, HTML5 and CSS3
- Excellent understanding of patterns used for developing large web applications
- Experience developing responsive web applications that work across multiple devices
- Must be a self-starter and enjoy working in a team with other passionate professionals
- Minimum 3+ years experience
- Nice to have: -
- Solid understanding of the full web technology stack (HTTP, WebSockets, cookies, asset loading / caching)
- Experience with React, Backbone, WebPack, Promises
- Experience with Sass and Compass
- Experience with cross-browser quirks
- Data-informed product development: analytics, A/B testing, etc.
- Experience using REST API’s
- Experience with modern version control systems
